The Gourmet Grocer is a New York-style deli and restaurant, with speciality groceries, catering, gift hampers and a winery. The Gourmet Grocer began as a collaboration with local, small suppliers, which is one of the key pillars to our success and sustainability. 

The Gourmet Grocer & Café is a neighbourhood store, very much entrenched in the community. The success of our business is driven by our Birdhaven and Melrose community who are very loyal to small local businesses like ours. We are obsessed with creating a place that you would want to visit every day. It’s all about the casual atmosphere, super friendly service, satisfying dishes and our own roasted coffee made with love & care! We bake our own bread, which you can buy from our bakery.

We have the kosher-style deli, Sadie’s (old Birnam Foods) where we provide a great selection of kosher-style deli items. So what started as a restaurant only is now a New York-style deli, grocery and winery store selling an exciting and ever-growing range of artisanal, locally produced grocery products ranging from healthy to decadent, which are not available everywhere.
